If we didn't see this on Yelp we would have drove by. Looks more like a gyro or hot dog place. The sandwich was good. My wife had the roast beef and I had ham and cheese. We will come back when in the area. Sure beats a Subway. And they serve Pepsi products, that adds a star.

The food at baguette is not the issue (usually!), rather it is their complete lack of respect for their customers and a "not my fault" attitude. The management is terribly rude and the staff are equally as bad. The first "incident" happened after my two friends and I ordered veggie barbecue sandwiches (they were our favorite at the time). We ate the food, and it tasted great although slightly different than usual. Within a day, we all contracted a terrible case of food poisoning (vomiting, diarrhea, the works!). Of course, we called in a few days later to report to the Managment that they should maybe check their barbecue for freshness! Instead of apologizing, expressing concern, or offering some sort of refund or coupon, the manager rudely stated "well you didn't get food poisoning from our food!" Even though it was quite obvious that we all ate the same thing on the same day and got the same illness... Frankly, any report of that nature (quality of food with respect to causing illness) should be taken seriously by any establishment that sells food! I personally have never again eaten at baguette since the first incident. But the second incident occurred when my friends brought some French fries into the baguette. They ordered and sat down at a back table. Soon, the manager came over to where they were sitting and sharply told them that there was a "no outside food allowed" policy, and that they would have to either trash their French fries or leave the store and she would have their order made to go. My friends were not taken aback by the policy (it's rather a common one), but were astonished with how rudely the manager decided to explain it to them. They didn't respond immediately, so the manager rushed back to the kitchen and was heard loudly telling the staff about how customers had brought outside food into the store and how that was not allowed and, without giving my friends a chance to tell her whether they would like their order made to go or whether they would throw their food out, instructed the staff to "make their order to go, we can't have them in here". Such inconsideration for customers, regardless of policy, is inexcusable. At least have some tact when rigidly employing your policies! I have never gone back to baguette and I advise everyone I know to discontinue giving their money to such an uncharitable, inconsiderate place. The manager of this franchise also considers herself to be a "Christian", but don't expect any Christianly consideration when you order at baguette! Five negative stars.

The one place to visit in berrien springs. This is what my parents look forward to most when they come to "visit" me at school. Hot sandwhich made to order. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My go to item is the chicken hawaii! You choose either sourdough or multigrain, sauce, and veggies.

It is a tasty sandwich. A quality Hawaiian chicken sandwich but for me, not super filling.

Wow, I do not tire of these sandwiches. They're just so darn tasty. The menu consists of meat sandwiches and an entire side of vegetarian sandwiches...with vege meats which are fantastic. The bread is fresh baked daily (I've had a few of my sandwiches come out on oven-hot bread...mouth-watering, much?), and they use good, fresh ingredients. I've only had the vegetarian sandwiches, so I can only comment on those. But, there are always loads of people lined up to get both. The sauce is what may be the magic here. Garlic, herb, curry, & more. Delicious. They also serve Illy coffee drinks, a few French pastries, and have recently added one of those soda/pop drink machines where you can choose from 100's of options. Mind you, with the sauce and various meats & toppings options, these aren't the lowest calorie sandwiches if you're not careful. But you can make lower-cal choices, if desired. Be prepared to wait a bit, unless you're the only one there (rare). The sandwiches are made with care & take a little time to make. But they move as quickly as they can and typically have an abundance of staff scheduled. They recently renovated the dining room, which is 100% better. Much more inviting and conducive to comfortable dining. Looks like they're giving the exterior a facelift as well. Recommended all around. You will not be disappointed.

Always a favorite due to the lack of dining options in Berrien.

it's aite. it'll be better if they gave more vegetable. i'd choose subway.

Love all the vegetarian options! Best sandwiches in the area. Very clean, staff is always friendly and wait times are minimal. Absolutely love this place.

I love this place!!! Every time I'm in the Berrien Springs area I go here. It's expensive but so worth every penny. I loved the service I got today too. They've recently done some remodeling making the place even more inviting. This place is perfect for vegetarians!!!!!!!

Some of my favorite sandwiches are the Ruben, Roast beef with tomato pesto sauce, Bourbon Chicken, and the vegetarian BBQ meatball sandwich. They have some great chai tea.

I thought it was a bakery by the name, but nope, it's a sandwich spot. The bread was excellent and the buffalo chicken was yummy. Good lunch spot!

If prepared correctly, Baguette sandwiches are delicious! The shop offers meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. I recommend the sourdough bread and garlic sauce as staples in ordering a sandwich! The sandwiches generally are so tasty; lightly toasted bread accompanied by vegetables of choice, a protein, melted cheese, and a most delectable garlic sauce--warm right out of the oven. You will find it difficult to find fault with the make up or taste of the sandwich. Unfortunately, my experience in getting my order accurate is alarmingly inconsistent. I've made orders where a whole sandwich will be left out, or a meat sandwich came out when I specified a vegetarian meat. Despite the inconsistency in order accuracy, the sandwiches are delicious and are a staple in the Berrien Springs area.

Seriously, this place is just random. Wouldn't have picked it from any other sandwich shop, except that the yelp reviews were stellar! We tried another location closer to St. Joes and this one reigns supreme. Many varieties of sandwiches but the money is in the bread! Crunchy toasted on the outside but super soft and pillowy on the inside. The spreads really can add to a sandwich as well. The garlic is popular but also tried pesto and curry, both would work on the right sandwich. Lastly, want to point out their tomato bisque... DO IT, it's really amazing. Comes with a side of bread for dipping. Random, yes, but super tasty, yes!

This place is amazing! I had two great sandwiches veggie and a combo! This place is incredibly delicious :) will definitely eat here again! Met the owners they are amazing people. I recommend this place to anyone that loves food and loves sandwiches.

Good subs, friendly service a few steps above your typical subway chain. Only negative is no blue cheese for their Buffalo Chicken sub, um guys, Buffalo Chicken REQUIRES blue cheese!!!

I did not see the reason for all the hype about this place. I got a gift certificate for a free sandwich and I tried to give it a shot. The place was nice, the people behind the counter were OK, not friendly and they seem not to care at all about their job. There is extras everywhere, extra for french bread (yes, in the baguette de France, the French bread is extra), extra for this and that. I ended up paying almost 5 bucks for my free sandwich. When I ate it, it wasn't as good as I thought. It is a fancier Subway, and way more expansive. Needles to say, this was probably my last visit.

This is one of the best sandwich spots I know. They recently remodeled the place. They also added illy coffee & pastries. However, they are kind of lacking on their drinks. I recommend the Buffalo chicken as well as the bourbon chicken. Their garlic sauce is a great addition to their sandwiches. Bon Appétit! :)

I always have chicken Hawaii with garlic sauce on the side!! So yumm~~~~~wish the price was a little low for students.

We can't believe we haven't checked in or written a review! We've been here lots of times. Very good hot sandwiches with lots of options for vegetarians. We usually get either the vege BBQ, bourbon chicken, or vege chicken... Actually we almost tried everything on the menu and they're all pretty good.

A sandwich from this place is absolutely phenomenal. I love pineapple so I went out on a limb and tried the "chicken Hawaii. " I've only ever tried one other sandwich. The Hawaii is so delicious I love it every time. The garlic sauce is on point and they are fast and great. A little pricey for sandwiches but so worth it

Delicious! Had the chicken salad sandwich and my husband had the Hawaiian one. They were delicious, came out fast and staff was friendly. Best sandwich place I have been here.

This is one of the best sandwich shops anywhere! A must visit any time we are in town. I highly recommend the chicken hawaii with herb sauce and the roast beef with garlic sauce.

Okay, I'm sadly a San Diegan Yelper so reviews out of my area of jurisdiction tend to make me less reliable and somewhat biased, but there's no bias here! My friend really...REALLY was excited to eat here and I was nonchalantly excited too. Zomg. Only the small community around here will ever taste this....sorry San Diego/California/WestCoast. But these probably are one of the best baguette sandwiches EVER. Food: - Bourbon Chicken ($5.49 for 6" or $6.99 for footlong): IM FLOORED. The woman said everything on their menu is great, but this sweet/zesty/savory marinade was killing me with the super fat and juicy pieces of chicken. I got the multigrain bread which has flaxseed and a lot of whole grains, and when toasted, makes it super soft and unbearably delicious. I also got the garlic sauce which went perfectly with the sandwich--and it wasn't really too garlicy. It was creamy and wholesome. UGhhhhh every bite made me go "mmMHmm!" and it was just a natural reaction to such a beautiful medley of tastes and fresh ingredients. Pro: - There are a lot of people who eat here, although I feel it's kind of in the middle of no where so only locals eat here. What a great kept secret. There's only 10 reviews too, ohh how much the world has been missing out! - Very friendly staff. - Casual atmosphere. Imagine a sub shop. - Vegetarian friendly. Some options are: Vege BBQ Meatball, Vege Combo, Vege Chicken, Vege Chicken Hawaii, Vege Turkey. Sorry, I like eating real flesh but I'm sure others will prefer eating...soy. To each his own! Con: - No seriously, only two locations? Berrien Springs and St. Joseph, Michigan? -_-. - Hours are a little funky sometimes. Open some days, some nights, yeah... Observations: - Looks like a normal restaurant, but the beauty happens right behind the counter. - The trashcan says "Merci" teehee, i chuckled. Tips: - Two sizes: 6" or 12" for 1.50 more. Get the foot-long, it's worth it. - Unsure what to get? Ask the woman taking your order. She's so nice. She's been working there for 20 years...insane! - Eat from the side of the baguette that has the tail, first. It gets hard the fastest! I drool. I drool. I want to come back once more before I leave for my side of the world...please God, please.

You know what makes a sandwich so good? It's the bread and Baguette de France's sourdough baguette is on point! In all of my years going to this spot, the bread has consistently been excellent. Sometimes, I forego a sandwich and just get a sourdough baguette with a side of sauce--an excellent (although a little plain) meal in itself. My absolute favorite sandwich is the Chicken Hawaii. The sweetness of the pineapple really balances out the savory chicken and delicious bread wonderfully. If I'm not feeling chicken, I usually replace it with tuna or roast beef--all excellent sandwiches! After the bread what really makes Baguette de France's sandwiches so good has to be their sauces. Garlic sauce is my personal favorite. That being said, they sometimes put too much sauce on the sandwich so ask for it on the side instead and apply it yourself as you eat. The price point is fair, being about a $8 sandwich for full size. My only complaint has to be the staff. Once in a while, I'll experience staff members who seem to be a little on the incompetent side. Once, when my order was not made correctly (I actually paid a little more for sprouts in my sandwich and it wasn't put in), a staff member didn't even offer to correct it with a new sandwich and kind of gave me an "oh well" look. Aside from this, the staff is ignorable when considering how great the food is. The restaurant itself was newly renovated this past year, making it a lot more spacious than before. Great place for a casual lunch/dinner with friends or a quick pick-up on the way home.

Pretty good sandwiches. Sometimes they toast a little too much. Highly. Recommend the multigrain over the sourdough option. Lunch rush can also have you waiting a little longer than you're used to waiting for a sandwich.

Absolutely the worst ever! Ordered a combo with all veggies, guess what... Only 1 little sliver of jalapeño on entire sandwich. 3-5 pcs of very tiny diced onions that were microscopic, old tasting bread, herb sauce that was identical to mayo and meat was subpar! Very disgusted! I've never wrote a yelp review until now because I tolerate a lot and I'm not a picky person, this sandwich was the worst meal ever paid for! I'm very upset that this sandwich costed money, useless- disgusting, gross! I feel extremely scammed! 6/3/15. They should be ashamed for serving this, it was THAT bad!

You can't go wrong here. Great fresh sandwiches (try the garlic sauce!) and they have nice Italian sodas.

Best food joint on the block in Berrien Springs. They have recently renovated their business and it looks amazing ! Amazing food and decent prices too! I recommend their bourbon chicken with garlic sauce on the side. Bon Apitite !

Saw the reviews ahead of time while planning our winery weekend in SW Michigan and thought this place deserved a visit for lunch before consuming mass quantities of wine. Wow, this place is GOOD! We had the cream of tomato bisque soup - extremely tasty and had a nice balance of flavors with just the right amount of basil. We also had the footlong Ruben - delicious! They did not skimp on any of the toppings, plenty of meat and sauerkraut! I wish this place was closer to home - I'd be here all the time!

Passed by this place so many times and never thought to try it, but after a friend told me, and I quote "it will change your life" I decided to go see exactly what she was talking about, lol. I ordered the Veggie Chicken Hawaii and WOW! Absolutely amazing. The bread was amazing, the sauce was amazing, everything was amazing about this sandwich! Instantly it became my most favorite sandwich shop (and I am a loyal subway patron, but subway just doesn't compare). I'm vegetarian so I love that they carry such a wide variety of meatless options, definitely hard to find these days. And though this tasty mouth-watering bite will cost more than a subway $5 footlong, it's TOTALLY worth it! Try it and you'll see.

Definitely a must have if you're ever in Berrien Springs. What sets this place apart is the sauce. There are several different sauces to choose from, but I personally love the garlic and curry sauces. Their bread isn't too bad either. There have been some times where I have just ordered a loaf of bread and the sauce. Another plus is that it has a lot of vegetarian options, like the vege bbq meatball, which is pretty good. But to be honest, you can't really go wrong with any of the sandwiches on the menu. They're all amazing.

We really loved this place and kept going back during our visit. Over a few days my family tried the tuna, vege combo, regular combo, vege BBQ (my fav), and the pastrami. They were all great. The garlic sauce, as other reviewers has said, was perfect on all of the sandwiches. The tomato basil soup bowl was tasty and comes with a couple slices of warm baguette. My family raved about the soup the most.

I LOVE Baguette! I used to live in Berrien and took this place for granted! Every time I come to Michigan on vacation we HAVE to stop at Baguette! The egg sandwich on sourdough with garlic sauce and all the fixings is to die for! Keep up the good work, and it'd be AWESOME to get one in Indiana... :)

Yum! I got the vegetarian sandwich! So good... love the bread! Wish I lived in the area or one can open up where I live. I'd eat here all the time!

There's a lot of hype about Baguette if you're not from Berrien. Let me say that the hype is true. Baguette tastes amazing when you eat it for the first time, like a glorified Subway or Quizno's. You can customize your sandwich with veggie options, different cheeses, vegetables, and a sauce. The garlic sauce is definitely the best, and the most popular. In particular, the Chicken Hawaiian and the Barbeque sandwiches are excellent options. The ambiance is casual, with murals depicting the French countryside. Service is always slow, as usual when the restaurant is not a chain. I would avoid going here for lunch if you're short on time; it can take a while. They're not the cheapest sandwiches, but reasonably priced for the quality, portion, and taste. Bottom line: tasty and filling customizable sandwiches, definitely choose the garlic sauce. And always remember: Mind over matter; food over mind.

Even if you have no other reason to be in this tiny town, Baguette de France will give you a reason. The sandwiches are decent on their own but made great by sauces and the vegetarian options. I wish this was in California. The Turkey with curry sauce or BBQ with curry sauce are my favs.

Oh my god, can't believe this spot is still open but I'm believe me I know why...they have the best sandwiches ever!!! I'm in NYC and I'd do the drive to go have one of these sandwiches. If I could open up a spot here I would!!

I came here with high expectations and was greatly disappointed. The bread was hard and the inside was so bland. I am never coming here again.

This place seriously needs to expand!!! I will take one over in the Metro Detroit area please! The subs here are AMAZING!!! I wish they had delivery 3 hours away!! :) I am only in the area once in a great while but I always stop in and order like 2 or 3 subs to have for the rest of the week. I may be a little obsessed lol But it is very good!

Sweet mother of Mary, this might be the best sandwich I've had all year. Although it is only March yet.

Oven toasted sandwiches on French baguette bread. Popular with locals, especially the students in this small university town. Since a lot of vegetarians live in this area, the vegetarian choices tend to stand out, especially the vegetarian BBQ meatball. A cut above Subway, at least on par with Panera, but definitely unique and worth a try.

  • A K.

Baguette is a favorite of many college students in the area. I never really did get into it (i think subway is better) but once in a while i stop by there. Food is generally decent and service is average.. so good place but nothing to write home about.
